Everything you need to the know about the Brighton Miles
The event be returning in 2025, taking place on Saturday 5 April in Preston Park!
The Brighton Miles is open to everyone and not just children and young people!
The event is split into a series of ‘waves’ which run from 10:15-14:00 and offer children-only miles, family-miles and community-specific waves with every finisher receiving a souvenir Brighton Miles medal.
Among the waves for this year include miles specifically designed to make the event more inclusive. These include the Welcome Wave, which is more inclusive for disabled and neurodivergent people, and a Walk and Talk wave for people who don’t want to run or jog but still want to take part.
We want our Brighton Miles participants to enjoy the experience of taking part in a mass participation event. There will be spectator support around the course, and as they cross the Finish Line, they will receive a Brighton Miles medal.
After the Finish Line, we have a repatriation zone where any children and young people taking part without an adult guardian will be taken to by staff members. Here, a parent or guardian with a corresponding identifier to the participant's bib number will collect them.
As a responsible adult for a child participant, you remain responsible for their whereabouts and behaviour at all times. We will, however, ensure that marshals and stewards who come in direct contact with the children are DBS checked.
The course is also fully enclosed and marshalled, and parents are able to see the entire course from inside the Brighton Miles village.
We will have a lost person notification point, which will be at the Information Point within the Brighton Miles Village. Please report to this area if you are a lost child or if you have lost a child.
You can find out about all pay and display and NCP parking in the city here.
Do bear in mind that there will be many other parents trying to park on the day so using public car parks close by or taking public transport may be advisable.
