There is no need to update this on your registration. You will be able to choose your starting race corral when you collect your Race Pack. This will give you the chance to change your start time according to the time you think you will take once you have completed your training. It will also allow you to start with your friends or training partners.
Unfortunately we do not have any pacers for the BM10k.
We will have full medical care/treatment available to all participants at the start, along the route, and at the finish. Medical safety of the entrants is of paramount importance. Our medical cover will be provided by St John Ambulance combined with local paramedics, and a team of local paramedics, doctors and physiotherapists.
We do not send Race Packs to our participants. Race Packs must be collected from the Brighton Marathon Beach Village on the beach at Madeira Drive, on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th September 2021. More information can be found here.
In previous years many race packs have not been received on time with Brighton Marathon Weekend participants using the postal service. This has led to an increase in work load for the team at the most critical period before the event and to frustration for our participants. To ensure that we do not have these problems in the future we have decided to ask runners, or a friend, a member of their family, a running buddy or a colleague to collect the number instead. This should ensure that every runner wakes up on race day morning with the correct information, number, race chip and kit bag. You can find more information about this here.
You can nominate someone else to collect your Race Pack such as a friend or family member. More information available here.

Yes, this is allowed of course, but please bear in mind the race day weather conditions and appropriate fluid intake should your fancy dress layers leave you needing extra hydration. Please contact the office here should your outfit in anyway be restrictive to your running or may in any way impact upon any other runners in the event.
Non-racing wheelchair users are welcome to take part in the BM10k. However, we currently do not offer elite wheelchair races or allow self-propelled racing wheelchairs. If you wish to enter in a non-racing wheelchair, you will start at the rear of the race for carefully considered health & safety reasons associated with the course terrain and density of runners in parts. We also strongly advise that you are accompanied by an able-bodied runner throughout the 26.2 miles to support you for the above reasons but you can take part independently if you wish. We can help you find someone to accompany you if you are unable to do so. If you have an accompaniment, they must register for the event and have a race number. They will be allocated a complimentary place in the event by the organiser. Again, the wheelchair entrant and accompanying runner/assister will be asked to start at the back of the race. All wheelchair users take part on the understanding that they will be held strictly and solely liable if found to be responsible for harm to themselves or any third party or parties, or damage to any property during the race. If you wish to enter as a non-racing wheelchair user, or you wish to assist an entrant in a wheelchair, please email our office here.
