BM Ride | Ride Together. Ride Safe. Ride Brighton.

Grounded Events Company are proposing to launch an exciting new cycling event, BM Ride, at the Brighton Marathon Weekend next April. The plans are to introduce a mass participation bike ride like no other in the UK, and the first ever Brighton, city-centre ride on closed roads.

Grounded Events plan to offer cyclists of all abilities the opportunity to enjoy the streets of Brighton & Hove together, traffic-free over a 50km distance.

Whether a keen cyclist looking to ride out with friends, a family looking to take on a challenge together or a fundraiser looking for an opportunity to raise money for their chosen cause this event has something for everyone. Faster riders can start at the front while others follow on; this is not a race but an opportunity to enjoy the city of Brighton & Hove in a way not offered before. Ride fast, ride steady, or ride easy at BM Ride.

Plans are for BM Ride to start early on the same day as Brighton Marathon and BM10k on Sunday 14 April 2019, from its very own Velo Village on Hove Lawns. The planned route will take over the Brighton Marathon route, ahead of the runners setting off from Preston Park.

Grounded Events hope that BM Ride will continue to develop fundraising opportunities for charities and participants, as well as bringing more visitors to the city over Brighton Marathon Weekend.

This will be a rare opportunity to ride on closed roads and enjoy all the atmosphere of the buzzing Brighton Marathon Weekend.

Grounded Events are working closely with Brighton and Hove City Council to develop the event plan and hope to submit their proposal for cabinet consent in early October.

Anyone wishing to take part in this brand new event can register their interest online to receive exclusive information about when entries will open and how to enter.
