We’ve teamed up with our partner ASICS Runkeeper app to create a 2 hour challenge!
The challenge OPENS ON 26 FEBRUARY and is open to everyone but this is also great motivation for one of your long training runs, if you are signed up to run Brighton Marathon 2022.
It is very easy to get involved… Head out on a run for at least two hours between 26th February and 12th March, log your activity on the Runkeeper app and earn yourself an exclusive ASICS goody bag (worth £50) PLUS a digital medal.
Please note – we do not encourage anyone who has not completed the relevant training to complete a two hour run in one go.
How to enter the challenge
- To start, download the free Runkeeper app. If you’re new to the app, create an account. You can access the premium app experience, Runkeeper Go using promo code BRIGHTON2022. If you’ve used the app before, or already downloaded your free version as a 2022 participant, ensure you can sign in.
- Register for the 2 Hour Challenge here.
- Once registered, you will want to connect your Runkeeper account to the challenge.
- For step by step instructions on how to do this go HERE. When you’ve completed your two hour+ run in the Runkeeper app, you will have completed the challenge.
How to redeem your ASICS Runkeeper goody bag
You must complete the challenge to redeem your goody bag.
To get your ASICS goody bag, just head to Runners Need Brighton between 11am and 6pm on Saturday 12th March and show your digital finishers medal to one of the team.

Brighton Marathon – 2 Hour Challenge

Brighton Marathon 2 Hour Challenge (the ‘Challenge’) is a competition run between Brighton Marathon Weekend and Grounded Events Company (GEC), ASICS and Runkeeper.
Duration: The Challenge will run from 26th February 2022 08:00 (GMT) to 12th March, 2022 23:59 (GMT) (the “Challenge Period”).
Entry: The Challenge is open to all people who satisfactorily completed the Challenge as shown on Race Roster results page (excluding direct family members or anyone involved with Grounded Events Company, ASICS or Runkeeper) who are at least 18 years of age.
Prizes: Users who satisfactorily complete the 2 Hour Challenge will be able to claim a goody bag which must be picked up at Runnersneed (186 Western Rd, Brighton BN1 2BA, United Kingdom) on 12th March, 2022 between operating store hours, and while supplies last.
General Terms and Conditions:
The Challenge is administered by The Grounded Events Company, 32 West Street, Brighton BN1 2RT (GEC)
The Challenge period runs from 26th February, 2022 08:00 (GMT) to 12th March, 2022 23:59 (GMT). Entries must be completed during the Challenge Period to be validly included in the Challenge.
Participants must be at least 18 years old at the time of entry into the Challenge.
If entering the Challenge via the App, participants must complete tracked activity to enter. Once the activity is completed, the participant must visit Runnersneed to show completion of the challenge to receive their goody bag.No purchase is necessary to enter or participate in the Challenge. There is no winner of this challenge, completion is based on participation.
If entering the Challenge via the App, the activity must be completed during the Challenge Period. Any entry not complying with these Challenge Rules is invalid. GEC explicitly reserves the right to refuse or remove a submission of an entry, at its sole discretion, in the event GEC determines the Participant does not comply with all Challenge Rules.
GEC is not responsible for contacting participants who completed the challenge to remind them to claim their goody bag.
In GEC’ sole discretion, disqualification, forfeiture and the selection of an alternate winner may result from any of the following: (1) a potential Winner’s failure to respond to notification promptly upon receipt; (2) a potential Winner’s failure to provide GEC with satisfactory proof of age, identity and residency; and (3) any other non-compliance with the Challenge Rules.
No cash redemptions or Prize substitutions allowed. The Prizes, or any unused portion thereof, cannot be returned, are non-transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash.
If for any reason any aspect of the Challenge event is not capable of running as planned, including by reason of infection by computer virus, telephone network failure, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any cause beyond the control of GEC, GEC reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Challenge, or invalidate any affected entries, subject to the approval of the relevant government authorities, if required.
GEC reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds to be tampering with the entry process or operation of GEC or to be acting in violation of these Challenge Rules or in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner or entering or attempting to enter the Challenge multiple times through the use of multiple e-mail addresses or the use of any robotic or automated devices to submit entries.
GEC’ decisions as to the administration and operation of the Challenge and the selection of the potential winners are final and binding in all matters related to the Challenge and are not open for discussion with GEC.
GEC (their officers, directors, employees and agents) shall not be liable (including for negligence) for any personal injury or any loss or damage otherwise arising out of or in connection, directly or indirectly, with this Challenge, the Prize(s) or technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under GEC’s control).
Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, by participating in the Challenge, all participants agree to release and hold harmless GEC, its subsidiaries, affiliates, partners, agents, successors, assigns, each of their officers, directors, employees and agents, from and against any claim or cause of action, including, but not limited to, (a) Prize claims that contain inaccurate information or do not comply with or violate these Challenge Rules; (b) Prize claims or notifications that are lost, late, incomplete, illegible, unintelligible, damaged or otherwise not received by the intended recipient, in whole or in part, due to computer, human or technical error of any kind; (c) participants who have committed fraud or deception in entering or participating in the Challenge or claiming the Prize; (d) telephone, electronic, hardware, software, network, Internet or computer malfunctions, failures or difficulties; (e) any inability of the participant to accept the Prize for any reason; (f) if a Prize cannot be awarded due to cancellation, delays or interruptions due to Act of God, natural disasters, terrorism, pandemic, weather or any other similar event beyond GEC’s reasonable control; or (g) any damages, injuries or losses of any kind caused by the Prize or resulting from awarding, acceptance, possession, use, misuse, loss or misdirection of the Prize or resulting from participating in the Challenge or prize related activities.
GEC will not respond to any inquiries regarding the individual’s Challenge status or result.
GEC reserves the right to modify these Challenge Rules at any time without prior notice for the sole purpose of ensuring the good execution of the Challenge, with no detrimental effect on the participants.
